A Quick Skirt for Bella
Bella wasn't getting much wear out of her Easter dress, so I cut into it. A quick hem on the top made a great empire-waist blouse, and a quick casing and some elastic on the bottom half made this skirt.
I ran some cotton lace around the bottom and she was off on her busy way.

okay,
I will try again - can't spell and I meant to edit but couldn't figure that out this morning :o) so I deleted instead
What I was trying to say - is it is lovely - I love how Giles caught her on the move too.
Blessings
That looks so pretty! I love that polka dot material and then that lace is just too cute! What a great picture you captured of her running!
Could you recommend some online sources for beautiful yardage? Our local fabric store offers precious little in the way of lovely "vintage" fabrics.
What a great idea to get two useful garments out of one dress! The fabric is just lovely, and the lace trimming adds the perfect touch.
Yours in Christ,
Shannon
You've got such talent! Your family is blessed.

You do such beautiful work! Did your mom teach you?
Now with summertime I'am sure you have more time to sew.
I always enjoy seing your sewing projects!
Brilliant!
I love that fabric! Where did you purchase it?
A quick skirt for a quick girl! Good job and happy sewing!
Anyone have a favorite online fabric source? I've bought from Denver Fabrics and Fashion Fabrics but am always somewhat "surprised" by what comes in the mail. I generally just wait til I'm in a larger city and then drop a bundle!
My mother did teach me to sew as a young teen--I hated it and never sewed garments until the bug bit me while I was expecting Daisy four years ago. I was glad to have the basic skills then (they've since expanded somewhat).
I love cotton and wear a lot of jumpers, so the quilting sites are frequented by me - Keepsake Quilting and Patchwork Mountain. But my favorite site for fabric is Farmhouse Fabrics! What a lot of dreamy stuff they have!
Lovely as usual. I've just got to get busy and sew while my girlies are still little!

That skirt is simply beautiful!
That dress was gorgeous! Cutting into it would have killed me. You are made of braver stuff than me. Hopefully your daughter is getting more use out of the 2 piece outfit.
