Yum! The beach means egg salad for us! And M&M cookies! Have fun! We go to Galveston on a regular basis since we live so close. My DH is a photographer, so he provides me with many pictures to tide me over when we can't make it there.
Picnicking on the way! Folks don't do that so much anymore with all the fast food joints.
When my family would go on a vacation when I was a child, my mother would load up a cooler with assorted sandwiches (pimiento cheese and ham would be good) and sodas too, and we'd stop at a nice roadside park or rest stop to eat our lunch. I remember wishing my parents would stop at McDonald's sometimes, but deepdown I knew the expense of 6 children didn't allow for always eating out lunch. Ironically, I now long for the luxury of an on-the-way picnic of homemade goodies and a cold Pepsi from the glass bottle instead of the fast food joint.
Bottled drinks always seem more refreshing to me.
(It reminds me of the scene in "Driving Miss Daisy".)
Yummy - egg salad sandwiches! I'm thinking about you heading to the Gulf and Dolly heading that way too. I'm praying you will have had a wonderful time and arrived safely home before the storm blew in.
I am an evangelical Christian. I have two daughters whom I homeschool: Bella (15), and Daisy (8), and three older children: Giles (21), a college graduate, Felix (19), a college junior, and Clara (17), a college freshman. I'm 42 years old and happily married to my Dear Composer. We live in a 1920's school converted into a home, outside of town. And God is good.
Feel free to Pin my photos, but please link back to the page you found them on.
Photography
Photography is an important part of life at my house. Photos that appear here are taken by Giles, by the Composer, and by me. Giles is a real, paid photographer, and he uses a Sony Alpha. Most of the photography prior to September 2008 is his. Since then I have done most of the shooting and I use a Konica Minolta. Additionally, the Composer offers me nice shots on occasion, often from his little Canon point and shoot. I've given up trying to note who's done what. Thanks for your interest!

How lovely. All of it--beach, egg salad, togetherness--sounds delightful.
Funny, egg salad sandwiches were for lunch here, too.

Hello, Dolly!
Be careful on the gulf. Hurricane Dolly is getting bigger.
Praying you have a good holiday.
