An Apron for Town

Last week we piled in the car for a string of errands. "Mommy! You're still wearing your apron!" exclaimed Bella. I told her I thought it looked good with my outfit and I had left it on on purpose. There was a pause. "Clara, do something!" she cried.

If you'd like to try an apron for town, this is a good one to start with. Dainty in dimensions, generous in pockets.

Find it in the shop!

*LOVE* the trim and polka dot ties! Great job, as usual.

Also wanted to let you know that I started my first Grace Livingston Hill book, The Beloved Stranger, and I'm in love with it! I also borrowed The Chance of a Lifetime from our local library and will start that one as soon as the first is finished (shouldn't be too long since I can't put it down).

Lovely apron. Tho' I still love the one I bought from you recently, which I see is the same fabric as your dress in the photo. You are very talented!
My 20 mos. old loves the dangling strawberry which I have to tuck in the pocket so she won't yank it off-: )

And enjoyed the reactions of your youngsters! :-)

Love the edging! That sounds like me. Every once in a while I forget to take off my favorite apron. It took me a while to figure out why my neighbors were staring at me. After all I was just getting the mail, hehe!

Sounds like you've got bona-fide teenagers on your hands! You just might be starting a fashion trend, though. I love the thought of wearing an apron to town. Just because. I truly hope it catches on. :)

I too feel quite comfortable wearing my apron outside while dead heading the zinnia. My youngest daughter giggled and informed me I was outside with my apron on. Her eyes widened when I said, "I know."

Years ago as I was getting ready to leave the house, my 5-year old asked me with wide-opened eyes, "Are you going to wear that purse with those shoes?"

I think wearing an apron to town is a great idea. And yours is just lovely. Did Clara do anything?

That is too funny! Every good mom embarrasses her teenagers every once in awhile.

Hey, Martha used to run errands with her apron on, much to her daugther's chagrin:-) What's good enough for Martha. LOL!

I often whip off my apron just seconds before opening the door - one week our UPS man was making a bunch of school book deliveries and caught me off guard. I started to take off my apron and he said, 'Leave your apron on Mrs. K - we men don't see enough of those these days. Your home is one of my favorite places to stop because there is always a yummy smell coming from the kitchen, your kids are always friendly and so excited to see me, and you're just a real nice lady.' It was one of the best compliments I've received wearing a dirty stained apron!
