A Cotton Dress for Daisy
Inspiration can come from anywhere, which explains Daisy's request for this dress after noticing what Sally Cat was wearing one day in Busy Town (see Richard Scarry's Huckle Cat's Busiest Day Ever). 
Sweet details are the Peter Pan collar, the piped sleevebands, the extra-long sash, and the vintage square pearly buttons down the back.
And what's this? Has a blue linen butterfly seriously alighted at Daisy's waist? I guess so!
I would too, if I were a butterfly.

Are you saying you just made this dress based on a picture in a book?! I'm so impressed! I wish I could do that, but I have to have a pattern. Even then, things don't always turn out quite like I want them to.

I remember those days! Our children still think that they can show me a picture and I can make one *whatever their fancy* for them - thankfully they are well contented with my simplified rendition, or a simple - 'I'm sorry, I'm not a miracle worker dear!' In this case, you have captured Sally Cat's dress perfectly, we know that book well! Lovely job Anna!

I'm new to your blog but I've been eating it up bit by bit ever since I've found it. It's been one of those little gifts the Lord gives to let us know that he's thinking of us today. He's so thoughtful. I discovered it when I was looking for a non-dairy chicken pot pie recipe and it came up on google- God works in mysterious ways! In any case I can't help but notice that you use covered buttons a lot- which is something I drool at with my eyes but don't have the money to buy. Is it possible to give me directions on how to make my own? I have quite a few buttons and quite a few unfinished projects without them - but I ACHE for covered buttons.
