Bobbles

Remember this project? I started it in January and knitted hard through the first part of the winter, much of it while caring for my grandmother.

After her death I put it away for a while, but I pulled it back out and finished it just in time for fall.

The pattern calls for embroidered embellishments, and I've tried three different colorways and textures, but find that I like it best without. The lovely dimensional texture is all the interest the sweater needs.

Lovely! I've been picking up my knitting lately, too. Who can knit in July and August?

That is a beautiful sweater, Anna. The color is also gorgeous and you look great in it.

I'm hosting a party tomorrow night for my 45th birthday. Work has been hectic so the housework has slipped a little. (Well... more than a little...)
Just thought I's let you know that tomorrow morning I'll be 'channelling Anna'. You always make your house look so lovely and inviting, so tomorrow on the other side of the world I'll be doing my best to do the same. :)

A picture of you, Anna! I believe this is a first. We've seen shots of you, but never a full front photo. I must say you are lovely! That color of green goes very nicely on you. And finally, your sweater is certainly a work of art. I can only imagine how much hard work it was to complete. Bobbles are hard work.

Beautiful in its simplicity. No need for embellishment. Good job!

I was wondering if you were going to show it! Very pretty, Anna.
I'm still intimidated by such a big project.

I was knitting away last evening as we watched tv (socks - a first for me) and wondered if you had any knitting projects going.
I love the sweater and the color. I've knitted lots of sweaters but never have made a pattern with bobbles. I like it!

What a BEAUTIFUL sweater!! I am amazed that you have it done so quickly, I would still be working on that one for some time. :) Thank you for your daily postings, they are always enjoyable to look at each day....and I love how your mother is setting your children up with dishes and teapots!!

The sweater is beautiful. Good decision to forgo the embroidery. Lovely color, too.

LOVE that sweater! My sister is quite the knitter. The only thing I can knit is my round dishcloth, which I insist on using, though it takes every ounce of concentration to actually knit it!

You did a very fine job on this sweater. Many things I have knit, over the years, are souvenirs of my time....places I visited, season of the year, who I was with. I pray that when you wear this sweater you will have good memories of your grandmother.

You are beautiful and so is the sweater! You are right that it has all it needs in the pattern itself.

I was just wondering about this sweater the other day. I'm glad you finished it and it is lovely!

The forest green on your knit is amazing. I have to add that the style in which you knitted your sweater is absolutely classic. It's almost fall and the perfect time to finish!

Anna,
I don't know if you can help me or if anyone else out there can. I am working on a sweater(my 2nd knitting project). I have the correct size yarn and the correct size needle, but I am coming up 3 inches short on the width of the front of the sweater.(that is all I have done so far.) I talked to a friend and she thought maybe the pattern gave the wrong needle size. Any suggestions?
Thank you
Amy F.

Amy, perhaps you didn't knit up a swatch to check the gauge. - ? It's important.
