Brown Knitted Bear
O the poor posture! I stuffed this bear loosely so he would succumb to little baby arms, and the result is that he simply cannot sit up at all in a windowsill.
But he makes up for it in patience, I can tell. He's waiting for the first of many new babies to be born. All my slightly older friends are becoming grandparents, which I can't believe, but which is fun to sew for.
Debbie Bliss pattern, made in pure alpaca.

What a sweet friend for a baby! He has a very wise look about him...
Hi posture in the window reminds me of Corduroy. What a perfect gift for a new baby.
Awe...he looks like Winnie the Pooh but acts like Eeyore. Too sweet.:)

so sweet.
OH! OH! I love him!
Alpaca! I love it.
Love Little Bear! I just got a Debbie Bliss book on toys from Amazon -- have bought the yarn for making the teddy and will be starting him soon. Hope he turns out looking as cute and smooshy as yours.

I love it! It is so nice to give something hand-made to a dear friend.
I love getting gifts that are hand-made. I just don't understand why we don't do it more often?
Wonderful!!

He is so sweet!
My daughter was given a very similar bear when she was a baby, but it was crocheted, rather than knitted. And it was a girl bear, wearing a crocheted dress. To top off the delightfulness of this gift, it was lovingly handmade--by my brother! :-) My daughter is 18 now but Bonnie Bear still sits on display in her bedroom.
I don't knit, unfortunately, but I do appreciate alpaca after visiting Chile. It is beautifully soft and exquisite to the touch!
There's a lot of personality in that downtrodden look. I think he'll perk up when he finds a friend. Very cute!
My daughter reads your blog and she shows me things from time to time that catch her interest. She was laughing about the guys talking about Neil Diamond. I saw this lovely little bear and now I will be on the lookout for one at least something like it for my bed. I just fell in love with it. The fact that you didn't try to give it a bunch of character gives it so very much! No frills, no clothes or silly accessories. He's just beautiful!
This is SO pretty! I just love teddy bears, but cannot even fathom making this!! So very pretty, indeed!!

Anna, this is one of my very favorite things that you've made. Such sweetness in that teddy bear! He reminds me a lot of my littlest son Tobin, whom we call Tobin Bear. My Tobin Bear can't sit up very well either--not yet. :)
OH,but he is darlin'! He looks like he's waiting for someone (maybe his person is at school?). I will definitely check out your shop. Your pictures are beautiful!
BTW, I found you through Shannon at Rocks In My Dryer.
I love him. Where would I find a pattern??
This is a pattern from one of Debbie Bliss' baby books.
