Last Brilliant Saturday
This is the last Saturday of brilliant fall color that we'll have until next fall. The Composer and I were childless this afternoon and spent part of it driving home on the little back highways admiring the day. Then dinner for two to cook--how quick is that?--and an endless, pointless movie to finish up--how mindless is that?--and a fire in the woodstove and a last slice of chocolate cake.
Brilliant Saturday.

Wow, I'd say "how perfect is that"! Sounds like a wonderful day!
Funny, I use that expression a lot. I agree, it was a lovely day. Today was my birthday, so that made it extra nice!!
I also use the "frighteningly" that you used a couple posts ago too. Cool.

Sounds perfect to me!
Happy synchronicity. Across the Atlantic this family had a childless Saturday evening. I had taken the last Autumn colour pictures in our nearby park because gales and rain were forecast, had supper for two beside the first fire of the winter, watched very old TV programmes we had recorded, and ate the last of the chocolate brownies.
It's sounds like a perfectly lovely way to spend a childless day! Those are the days that give us a bit of time to just restore and refresh and draw closer.
Sounds absolutely delightful!
Your beautiful photo spoke to me today because I'm in Georgia this week enjoying some beautiful blue skies and incredible fall foliage. Who knew they had pretty leaves in the South? We don't have much in the way of leaf peeping in Eastern Washington state. Thank you for sharing.
