A Portrait Gallery Before We Go
We hit Giles up for a portrait session before he left. It was freezing cold the last day of the year, but we tried to look balmy!
Wow, how these children have grown up this year. Here is Clara, world's most serene and centered teenager:

Lovely, lovely family, but Anna, Anna, Anna, don't be in such a hurry to rush everyone through life! Why the hurry to leave the nest? They are so young!

It's not me that's in a hurry to get them out! They are the ones who are excited about the next step and ready to learn more. I do love having them at home.

Again, such a great capture of the winter light.
And I like Giles' view--he clearly loves his family, and does a great job expressing it.
All of your kids are just beautiful, and they all have that look of contentment that is only found in Christ. That must warm your heart so. My favorite picture, though, is of you and your husband. That is just so perfect.

Anna, I came across your blog while reading "Unclutterer" - I think you posted about how you store wrapping paper - and since then I have enjoyed the little glimpses of your life that you have been kind enough to share with us.
I have one daughter who is a freshman at University of California Santa Cruz; one son who is a high school junior; and another daughter who is in fifth grade. So I can relate to your feelings of how quickly the years fly by.
Your children are beautiful, inside and out, and that is a reflection of you and your husband and the home you provide.

I'll have to practice visualizing travel plans being completed next time it comes around. It sure looks like it makes it a more pleasant exercise! I love going away, but, UGH! the coordinating involved. Have an incredibly joyous time!
