The Biggest Bouquet

Grocery shopping yesterday I walked past the florist's booth. She came running after me and took me behind the counter to show me the entire bucket full--six sleeves--of lilies that were technically expired. She offered me the lot for ninety-nine cents, bucket included.

I've never had so many lilies in one place in my life, and that's after I gave a bouquet to a friend in the parking lot. The moral of this story is, it never hurts to communicate your enthusiasm to those around you. So that someday a florist might say, "I think of stargazer lilies whenever I see you," and bless you accordingly!

How wonderful! Stargazer lilies are my very favorite. I found some on sale last week (they are sitting right beside me), but I didn't get them for .99!

I hope you give a plate of cookies to your florist for her kindness! I do to our mechanic, whenever he does an extra kindness for us. (or would that be considered bribing the florist?) It doesn't seem to have had an ill effect on the mechanic.

Having so many lilies in my house would make me sneeze like crazy- but it probably wouldn't stop me from buying them at that price! They are so lovely.

Those are truly stunning! I remember one year, while my husband and I were still dating, he brought me hope TONS of flowers! I had at least 4 5 gallon buckets overflowing with flowers! He used to work for Phoenix, (a company that designs, builds, and decorates Rose Parade floats) and he was one of the Crew Leaders who daw the floral decoration, and volunteers, through to completion. Well one year there was an abundance of left over flowers, and my goodness he must've brought them ALL to me! =) It was amazing though! Tulips galore! I love tulips... and lily's, and orchids....
