Loose Ends

I've had the pleasure of tying up many loose ends over the past few weeks. Can I share?

• Felix finished his school work. Actually, Felix finished his homeschooling. When the Composer and I realized this, tears stood in our eyes.

• Bella is through with school for the year. And if you don't think she's baking in the kitchen and setting up housekeeping on my porch, you're wrong!

• Ran that half-marathon. Can I say that again?? I ran a half-marathon without walking! I may be slow, but as I pointed out to the Composer, it takes major stamina to run without stopping for two and a half hours. Just because he finished an hour earlier doesn't make him a better runner (tee hee).

• Just finished all the fund-raising necessary to send fourteen people (including my three big kids) into poverty-stricken mountain towns to work for a week.

• Those lingering, sticky, not-quite-coming-together projects on my sewing table got done!

• And I got everything I wanted to into my Etsy shop. Don't forget that if you buy this week, you get entered in a fantastic giveaway! (And if you bought two items, you're in there twice.)

Clara and the Composer are both struggling madly on towards deadlines of their own, so we're not leaving for vacation quite yet. But soon!

Running for 2 1/2 hours - I think I'm going to fall down at the thought of it.

Felix must be the sweetest thing in the world. May he always remain so.

Sounds like you've had a busy schedule.

I hope you'll share more about the fund raising and the project your 3 oldest will be helping with! I'm currently fund raising to send a Doctor and a helper to a Eastern European country to work in orphanages with special need orphans, so I'd love to hear more about how you fund raised!

It is a good feeling when we get those loose ends tied up.
You're accomplishing so many wonderful things as a family. Doesn't the time just go a little too quickly?

Felix! Makes me feel poignant, too, for the day when my son reaches that point.

As for the half, nice job! Slow and steady....I ran about 14 miles once (pregnant, though I did not know it) and it took just under 3 hours. Whatever gets the job done. Congratulations on doing it--I don't think one realizes how long that distance is until it is tackled. It's long!

Your loose ends serve as sources of inspiration, thank you for sharing.

Seeing your Dicht Nicht game for sale brought back some good memories of evenings spent playing that very game with my own German grandparents! The North American version of the game is "Trouble" which my own children now love to play with me.

Congratulations on the half-marathon, Anna! And all the other loose ends as well. That DOES feel so fabulous. I seem to be creating loose ends these says rather than tying them up, but that's the way it does sometimes...

Brilliant re the half marathon. Congrats to Felix. Are the mountain towns in the US or farther afield? Regards,

I couldn't run that long either. You have gotten a lot done! I always read your new posts and enjoy them so much. I home schooled and know that sad feeling when you are done for good. May you have a wonderful Mothers Day - a very well deserved one, me thinks.

Hey, for me it is a huge accomplishment to jog for 2 1/2 MINUTES straight. Congrats on all the things you've gotten done. I LOVE days/weeks like that.

Any one of those is an accomplishment--all of them together must feel really good! Congratulations on the 1/2 marathon; that's one of my goals, too! Are you thinking of another, or of a full in the future?

You've certainly had lots of busyness going on at your place. And a 2.5 hour run? Whoa. That's impressive. I can't run 2.5 minutes without conking out!

It seems you get so much done with homeschooling your children, sewing, gardening, other projects. Can you share any tips you have for accomplishing so much and keeping happy kids?! Thanks, I enjoy the photography and projects on your blog!

oh I love tying up loose ends!! I haven't been very successful with that recently, but your stories are inspiring.

Although I must say, I hate running and I'm very impressed that you ran for 2.5 HOURS. SHeesh.

Spring is a great time to finish things up :) the half marathon is huge. I peaked at around 10 miles a couple years back and coudln't get it together enough to do a full half. I'm slowly building back up...congrats on finishing it!

I hope Felix will continue his love of birds at the boarding school. I have been so impressed by your boys and their incredible creativity.
