A Flannel Dress for Daisy

I picked up McCall's 5966 last time I was at Hobby Lobby and saw a sale, in need of something quick and comfy to throw together for Daisy out of stash flannel. She is so very very picky about her clothes and so loathe to wear pants and so in need of a warm dress or two.

What a relief to find that this dress was acceptable. Because it looks like the one Nancy wears to the ball at the end of Enchanted. It does? As long as Daisy thinks so.

Now I don't have to take her to town in her bathing suit.

By the way, it runs huge. I cut out a size 3, with the length of a 5, and I could have gone down to a 2 and probably will next time.

A beautiful dress on a gorgeous girl. I knew Daisy was a kindred spirit ~ I refused to wear pants at her age too...they're boys clothes and I was NOT a boy!

This makes me wish my three girls were little again so I could make them this dress! So feminine and soft looking.

Oh I love it. What sweet sleeves and I love the neckline. Flannel to top it off, delightful dear friend. Daisy looks adorable and so happy!

May God richly bless your Thanksgiving. Personally, I am thankful, very thankful for you and our friendship. May God bless your sweet heart, as much as you have blessed mine.

I love you Anna!

What a lovely dress! Do you have any tips for keeping dress-wearing girls warm in winter? My 3 year old refuses to wear pants and I want to encourage her femininity while keeping her from freezing. Any suggestions? -Lucy

How beautiful! May I just, someday, come sit at your feet and watch you sew? I want to create so badly, but have no idea where to start!

For pequenita1, I recommend dresses and leggings (the cotton jersey kind. try the Children's Place). It's actually incredibly warm in the winter because then you have two layers on your bum instead of one layer as you would with pants. This is what I do and I live in the "snow belt" part of Canada. And try knit dresses or flannel.
