Daisy's Winter Wardrobe, Dress One
My Daisy had definite ideas of her own: winter dresses, stat, and no negotiating in the fabric store. We came home with her four choices in fabrics and got to work. She stuck to a very close palette of blues and browns. 
I actually was fascinated by this process. She has long observed *every* detail of dress, and regaled us at age three with excessively complicated descriptions of the costumes at a musical she attended. I mean, she was throwing around the terms empire waist, pleats, and square collar.
So no surprise that she knew what she wanted in her winter wardrobe.
Some turquoise buttons down the back of this soft, fine corduroy. Elbow sleeves. Peter Pan collar. Plain hem.
Made from (the out of print, I think) Butterick 6487, with a few modifications to please her highness.

Daisy, your choice of fabrics is quite pleasing according to the first one..love the printed corduroy with the buttons down the back...perfect for the beautiful young lady you are becoming!! There is nothing quite so rewarding as sewing for daughters who appreciate it...

She's a beautiful girl, who wears beautiful well, nice sewing, mama! I loved corduroys when my little ones were here, and I loved sewing for them, too! I can't wait to see what she comes up with next, and the fabrics she chose!

I know a little girl like this. She's now 7, but as a preschooler she was extremely concerned with her wardrobing. She's our pastor's granddaughter and lives 3 hours away, so only comes to our church on occasion. But each time she'd make remarks about what I wore last time--could have been months ago. "Last time you wore that brown skirt and those brown boots, I like those!" I was astonished at her memory! And when she was the flower girl in my sister's wedding, she was extremely particular about her sweet dress, the flowers, the basket, etc. So fun.
I think both Daisy and Scout have a future in dressmaking!

It sounds like you have a seamstress in the making. Blessed is the mother who has a daughter to sew with.
I think our daughters would be soul sisters, I just finished a Little Red Riding Hood costume that was painstakingly researched by a very detail oriented 6 yr old. I was terrified. Luckily she loves it, which is more than I can say for the ill-fated Egyptian costume of '09.
I agree with jlynn: Blessed is the mother who has a daughter to sew with.
I am just now enjoying that blessing. I wish that I had taken the time to sew more while my daughters were little, maybe then, I would have enjoyed this particular joy sooner!
Daisy has a good eye and wonderful taste! You may just have a budding clothing designer there!
What a blessing she has to have a Mama who can sew for her and teach her so (sew) much!
