A tall man, with a long roller and determination.
In the afternoon I said, "Let me take a turn and you eat something." He gave me the side eye. "You wouldn't last five minutes."
Which was true. So how did he keep going for eight hours, until it was all done? What a man.

Wow. Eight hours. I'm glad it's over.
Men. They really are wonderful like that - and you fall in love with them all over again : )
I hope he doesn't feel it now! I remember when we lived in a hundred and twenty year old house. The ceilings were just as high as yours are, and my poor husband could hardly move his neck for weeks after painting it.
Can't wait to see the new room!
This makes me in the mood to re-decorate. Can't wait to see it.
Aren't men amazingly strong? What would we do without them!?! Can't wait to see the finished room!
What a man indeed!! Painting ceilings is horrendous! But lovely that you didn't have to tackle it!
Ahh the ceiling - it's no wonder Michelangelo did the Sistine Chapel lying flat on his back - your husband's poor neck would be terribly sore after 8 hours!
Ooo, painting ceilings is a bear! My husband recently repainted ceilings in our kitchen. I was so thankful. Can't wait to see the new room.
Gotta love the men in our lives! I watched my husband shoveling hard-packed ice and snow this weekend. He was just going at it like he was taking a stroll. I'd have been laying in the driveway with jello arms after 5 minutes! On the flip side, I can endure the cares and woes of childhood, the constant, multiple demands and the crying all day. He doesn't last 5 minutes and then shakes his head at me and says, "how do you do it?" LOL!
I love that my husband does the ceilings because I too can't last that long doing it myself! I hope your project is in the home stretch. We are getting ready for 20 inches of snow! I think I will be snowbound in my sewing room:)
I always tell my husband that there's nothing more romantic than home improvement projects! I do hope your poor husband gets a neck rub today! He's going to need it! I'll bet it's so nice to have the painting done.
Wow, way to go composer! Lol I wouldn't last five minutes either. :)
He IS lovely and tall! I love the humour which you put into your posts. The reader can tell you and your husband, and your family have great relationships. It's most inspiring to read. Mostly you only hear about families squabbling, or one spouse putting the other down. I really enjoy being a viewer of your blog. Thank you.
Technique, perserverance and love. That'd by my guess.
Oh! I can just close my eyes and smell the paint! Lovely.....
On a side note, I found the most beautiful milk glass crocks at the local thrift store! I immediately thought of you:) They came home with me.....
In Christ,
Sandy
Oh my! What a marathon of painting! Is the room done or just the ceiling? Eight hours - admirable perseverance to be sure! I am the world's slowest painter so I really hate to do it, but love love love the end result! I hope your room is just as you envisioned!
that's great! I hope none of our ceilings need painting again.
Is it just my monitor, or is he covering a mauve ceiling with white? And peach walls? my. I'm curious to see how it turns out!
¥es, the ceiling was pink and now it's white. The walls are still a deep creamy color, soon to be pale gray. And all the trim is newly white.
I showed my husband the picture of your husband painting that high ceiling and I saw a familiar look on his face....love. He commented about the high ceilings and the size of the room and "felt" for your husbands aching neck and back!
I've seen that look of love for me many times and the "hubby to the rescue" look when I'm just beat.
I'm sooo happy that you were able to take a chunk of time and give your home some TLC.
Thanks for the clarification about the colors.
Resting in Jesus,
Kim
What type of material are your walls made from? Looks like it could be a pain to paint.
Best wishes
