Lilacs and Biscuits
It is a good time of year when the smell of lilacs comes through the window where you are mixing up biscuits.

Oh, Anna, pleeeeze - lilac scent coming in the window? What planet are you on? I'm moving. We had a bit of snow yesterday. (it is gone, though)
Diversity is good. I do love New England, but the thought of lilacs just seemed so REMOTE. Ah me.

I received four lilac bushes for my birthday. I cannot wait for them to bloom so that I can smell them through the windows!
Lilacs? Already? Sigh...

Oh my gosh! Possibly my two favorite scents in the world combined. Swoon.
Lisateresa - Don't forget, though, come May and June, the lilacs are beautiful in that part of the world! I grew up in Rochester, NY (home of the internationally famous Highland Park Lilac Festival), and lilacs always remind me of home. I will say, though, now that I live in Seattle, I love that I get cherry trees and lilacs blooming before Easter! I feel so spoiled after a childhood of egg hunts in the snowbanks!

I am having a hard time remembering what lilacs smell like! We just had another 8 inches of snow yesterday, and it will be June before there are any lilacs around here...so much to look forward to!

What a lovely thing it is! Our backyard is filled with the fragrance of lilacs right now. We planted them for my mother... she lives with us and remembered how they smelled. Now, each Spring, we enjoy them with her.
Every year at this time when I read your blog, I wonder what am I doing living up north.

I'm one of those who don't get lilacs so early... about the beginning of May in this part of the world. Still, I can totally relate!
Lovely! But you have just officially topped me up into official spring fever. I may just consider forgoing all the charms of this frozen north with its thigh-deep snow for warmer climes. We'll have a tough go with flooding and then finally (hopefully!) the respite of the solid thunk of potatoes hitting garden soil and lilac blossoms soon after!
Oh, dear! I'm still just waiting to see my first daffodil! ;)

Ah! How I envy you!!! That picture has two things I absolutely like!
I love lilacs, and I can't enjoy them where I live because they can't grow here!
Besides that, I haven't had biscuits in awhile and I've been so wanting to try a good recipe sometime. That picture is just a summary of two lovely things in this life.
Oh shoot. Now I want buscuits and I am trying to do low carb!

Did you make drop biscuits? You need to try sour cream biscuits. They are deelish!
Don't know that I've ever smelled lilac as I think it's too hot here for them, but wisteria and gardenia are heavenly--as well as hyacinths and narcissus! Biscuits smell heavenly everywhere--especially with butter and dripping with honey!
