We love TinTin! My mom grew up reading them in French. My daughter is currently enjoying Calvin and Hobbes. Two books we came across at the thrift store. *MaryAnne
My boys love Beano, and this has reminded me that Tintin would be a great next step for them! Thanks... Love this photo. She looks totally absorbed. :)
Tintin, oh yes! And his dog, who has all kinds of different names depending on the language, and is always trying to eat some kind of trash Tintin does not want him to eat!
In this part of the world (British Isles) Daisy's band would be referred to as a hairband, whilst a headband goes round the forehead. But it's often called an Alice band because of the original illustrations by Sir John Tenniel which showed Lewis Carroll's Alice wearing just such a band on her hair, very appropriate for a little girl whom I believe is also a fan of the Alice books.
Oh, my daugthers are into Tintin, too...we have that exact one with 3 stories and one of the other trios...we'd like to have the whole collection. Did you know there is going to be a Tintin movie coming out? I don't think it will live up to the whimsical drawings and fanciful historical and geographical interests achieved in the books, though.
I am an evangelical Christian. I have two daughters whom I homeschool: Bella (15), and Daisy (8), and three older children: Giles (21), a college graduate, Felix (19), a college junior, and Clara (17), a college freshman. I'm 42 years old and happily married to my Dear Composer. We live in a 1920's school converted into a home, outside of town. And God is good.
Feel free to Pin my photos, but please link back to the page you found them on.
Photography
Photography is an important part of life at my house. Photos that appear here are taken by Giles, by the Composer, and by me. Giles is a real, paid photographer, and he uses a Sony Alpha. Most of the photography prior to September 2008 is his. Since then I have done most of the shooting and I use a Konica Minolta. Additionally, the Composer offers me nice shots on occasion, often from his little Canon point and shoot. I've given up trying to note who's done what. Thanks for your interest!

Too precious for words!
The picture of loveliness!
O, Tintin, we love you, tho' that love does not extend to the matching mustachioed men who tail you around the globe.
One of my great pleasures is watching my girls hunker down with the same Tintin books that enthralled me when I was young.
Daisy has excellent taste.
Tintin has been well-read at our house, as well. And your Daisy with her rose is absolutely charming. :-)

And fresh rose in hair = fabulous.
Tintin is a favorite around here, too... as is Asterix.
That picture just warms my heart. Y'all do such a great job of encouraging your children to read.
Such a little lady!

I haven't heard of TinTin...I will have to keep my eyes out. (is this an old book or a new? Guess I will have to Google now won't I).
Enjoy your celebration on Resurrection Day!

This made me smile because my youngest son has been lying on the couch reading the same Tintin book from the library.
