Magna Cum Laude

I remember this. It wasn't that long ago.

He made such good use of his years here. He grew and grew. His technical skill, his artistry, his friendships, his responsibility, his leadership. His life.

He's nineteen, and sort of fearless. Sort of. I've told him he doesn't have to support himself yet. Not til he's twenty-one. He looks at me witheringly. He's ready.

It makes me teary. It makes me happy.

I remember reading that post about him going to SCAD when you first posted it ahhh Has it been that long? Have I been reading the blog that long?

Congrats to the (very) young and talented grad.

Congratulations Giles! As a former high school teacher (in Australia) I've followed your transition from home schooling to college/uni with interest. All the best for the next bend in the road.

And Anna and The Composer: take a bow.

Congratulations to Giles, and hats off to Anna and the Composer!!! Your whole family is an inspiration to us all! *Psalm 112:1-2*

Blessings,
Katie

p.s. Did he speed through curriculum to graduate high school early or did he take dual h.s./college credit? However it was accomplished, it was obviously accomplished in obedience to the Lord's will! How wonderful! =)

Beautiful family, Anna. Congratulations! You and your husband have prepared him well if he can't wait to be on his own. It's a great indicator of a secure foundation.

Awe....yes, I have one of those, a adult-child with success in their hearts. Very teary eyed times in a mother's life. Congratulations, job well done on bringing another fine, young man into adulthood.

That is the funny thing about kids, they tend to grow up. Seems like just the other day, I was graduating high school, then undergrad, then grad... Where does the time go? We humans are confined to time and always in a state of change. That is why it is so amazing that God is not and stays the same so that we don't have to worry about him going away or "growing up." God has definitely been good to your family. Many blessings for you all!

Congratulations!!!!

Posts like this are so hard to wrap my mind around--the passage of time, & the reality that one day my son (turned 4 yesterday) will be on his own. It seems like too much! But what a blessing, for you to see the fruits of years of your own love and labor.
