She Knits On

Clara made a second knitted beret on our second camping trip. This one is out of a crisp cream-colored wool from Debbie Bliss, same pattern as last time.

She says she's going to use up our entire stash of yarn in hats and booties--a lifetime worth of birthday and shower gifts!

We've been knitting together all week while Bella is away. It's hard to put the needles down and go to bed.

A nice goal - to use up a stash of yarn!

Very cute. Nice job. For me, when I make a homemade item I want it to be interchangeable with something that I could have purchased at a high end boutique. I think mission accomplished.

I know that feeling of not wanting to go to bed when you're knitting. It is just so satisfying to watch the fabric grow! I am in the midst of a personal quest to use up all my stash of kitchen cotton and knit up a mess of dishcloths and pot holders. Clara is a gifted knitter, I think. Her projects are so very beautiful.

And she's looking more and more like her lovely Mom every day!

My 78 year old mother and I have been knitting a very light weight shawl this summer. It is a free pattern from churchmouse yarns and teas in Seattle. They have a free newsletter with a pattern each month. It is nice to get a northern taste of knitting in Oklahoma. Love your blog!

This is so nice - I especially like the purplish one earlier. What is the pattern on Raverly - I began to look but there are so many. Is it a free pattern?
