It's nice to get it for just $5 a load at the recycling center, but I do wish that price included delivery and a team of gardeners to spread it for me.
At least I have Felix and Clara*. And they are happy workers.
I hope Bella recovers quickly from her cold. Maybe she'd like to recover just *after* all the mulching is done. ;-)
My boys have been sick recently, too, and I've been reminded of how sad it is to have a cold in the summertime. Not that it's a picnic to have one in the winter or any other season!
That's exactly what we did last week! Two truck loads. The kids and I weeded and made the beds ready, and then my hubby and son shoveled the mulch. It is so satisfying to see the finished product. :)
at our church, there's usually a couple high schoolers asking for summer work for small wages. I love to hire them for house and yard chores like this! Lucky you to have in-house help already.
I think our recycling center takes all the greens gathered at everyones curb side greens bin and composts it. I know what is in much of this recycling though. Pesticides, dog droppings and cigarettes and diseased plant materials....anything found in yards and walkways close to their streets. We put anything in our greens bin we Don't want to compost. Like the diseased plants or grass that has herbicides in it. I wonder how much of what is from our own town's recycling center is ok for use? I need to look into our towns recycling to see for sure. thank you for the reminder Sarah
