Baby Granny Squares, with Piecrust Frill
I think I love crocheting more than knitting. It's just not as tense. You can rip out stitches without the world falling apart. You can add on after deciding you had finished.
It has an improvisatory quality that my knitting sadly lacks.
The granny squares baby afghan is finished and in the shop. Help yourself!

Eee, it's beautiful! You inspired me to start my own baby granny blanket: http://thistleandlilly.blogspot.com
Oh, it's lovely. Yes, in crocheting you can never drop a stitch!

Really cute....and the edging is definitely a nice touch. I wish I were a stronger crocheter. I can move really quickly with my knitting needles, but somehow somehow can't keep an edge straight when I crochet something!

That's gorgeous!
I've been knitting for fifty years but have never crocheted -- am I too old a dog to learn Anna? Is it like one handed knitting? I know it's faster.
Love it! I found crochet to be easier. I would stress out when I dropped a stitch in knitting. Wanting something a little less stressful, I went with crochet. The baby blanket is just beautiful. Nice work, Anna.
Absolutely lovely!!!

Yes, crochet is easier; you're as good as your last loop in many cases! I think it takes slightly more yarn to make up the same sized article and it doesn't produce the smooth texture that a stocking stitch, but boy is it easier!
I agree with all that you said. I love the look of knit but crochet is definitely more versatile.
I really must take up crochet. That is a beautiful blanket.
I bet Clara can show you how to fix a mistake several rows down. :) Drop your stitches down to the mistake, fix it, and use a crochet hook to bring them back up the ladder. There are probably knitting books in the library to explain better than I can. :) I wish I liked to crochet sometimes, there are so many crochet designs out there that I like.
I feel the same way! (about crochet and knitting) I hardly ever hear anyone say that ;0). Look, I love my knitting but crochet is faster for me and you're right, if you mess up, the world doesn't fall apart. You just rip and start over at that part much easier than if you mess up in a knitting pattern ;0). Your blanket it beautiful. Blessings, Lori
