Daisy Hosts a Cocoa Party

It's true that I had to make the cocoa, and pour it, and the girls carried the trays, but Daisy did everything else. It was her idea.

Cocoa, and animal crackers in egg cups, and all five of us, outside, under the maple tree.

This was on Sunday afternoon.

We used the pretty china. And everyone's egg cup had a name tag in it. She didn't want to hurt any feelings by giving them an egg cup in a color not their favorite.

So yes, that worked out.

No one was sad.

Just glad to be at Daisy's cocoa party.

Dear Daisy, I would have loved to have been at your cocoa party, too. It looks so lovely in the pictures. What a fine hostess you are, and what a nice gift for your family.

"Animal crackers and cocoa the drink, that is the finest of suppers I think..." One of my favorite little poems : ) Such a fine party - good company and chocolate - what more can a girl ask for!

I think your girls could band together in a couple of years and open a tea/cocoa shop. Bella would do the baking, Daisy could be the hostess/waitress/theme person, with Clara playing lovely music in the background. You could test the recipes.

Excuse me, but I have to ask...When, exactly, did Clara become such a gorgeous young woman? Wow. It's as if she grew up overnight! Lovely family you have, Anna.

we've had many cocoa and animal cracker (or saltines with strawberry jam) tea parties here. the menu never matters...if Momma will stop and sit down with them, is what matters.

Lovely life you lead, Miss Anna. Do you use a pre-made mix or make your own?

We always make it! It's 1/4 c. cocoa, 1/2 c. sugar. 1/3 c. water blended to a paste, add a dash of salt and 4 cups of milk. Easy and not too sweet.
