I *love* this one!! The boots are beautiful with that shade of green. She looks just like a GLH heroine, right down to the holly sprig. What a tall, slim girl--in my mind, that's a lucky girl!!
Lucky too to have a mother who sews for her! {And I was just putting together a few patterns for you today!}
This dress is similar to how I envisioned the dress described in the GLH book, Astra. However, I think that Astra's dress had little red buttons. I may be wrong about the book, but I am pretty sure that Astra was the one.
So gorgeous. Glad to see so many sewing posts lately. They're some of my favorites. I'm finally getting around t constructing my own floor length robe in that reissued Butterick pattern you did in that rich dark teal color.
You have completely convinced me that store bought clothes are a waste of my time and money. Once I've given birth and shed the usual post-partum pounds, I hope to sew a wardrobe for myself.
Clara looks stunning in that color and style. Love the boots, too! Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Oh, I wish I knew you and your family in person!
I hesitate to put much time into 100% cotton garments because of the disappointing, inevitable color fade. Any tips for retaining color or insights into why you chose cotton twill?
I'm seeing more and more why you make things you like over and over again. It's great when you feel like you've really done it right, or figured out the most straightforward way.
Thank you for all the pictures of this dress on a most beatiful model! The dress is wonderful for playing cello in after I added length. Thanks for the insperation!

The dress and the young woman are both lovely. Sounds like she is nearly outfitted for college next year. Does she have one selected yet?

Kristen, we have definitely been sewing with college in mind! She's should hear from her first choice school in about a month.
Polly, I can't wait!
Michele, we were indeed thinking Astra.

It's beautiful! And the photography is perfect for showing it off.
I love Clara's boots! Where did she get them?

What a beautiful and stylish dress for Yuletide!
This will be a lovely dress for church on Christmas. You did a great job!
That might be the prettiest picture of Clara on your site - just something about it (or her!)
