A Bright Hallway

Well, it's nice to be back in this space! The Composer and Bella just returned from west Africa, and my photo capabilities came back with them (yes, I know that my hallway pales in comparison!).

Felix and I spent part of our home time painting the downstairs hallways. Now they match the living room's Atrium White trim, and that feels very nice and fresh. I had totally forgotten that Felix developed fierce painting skills this summer working on the house exterior. My gain! I thought this would be a *small* project, but he worked 18 hours and I worked 16. Ugh.

We had so much fun together though. We used Spotify for its best purpose ever: discovering little-known Neil Diamond numbers. He's fearlessly un-ironic and has a fine disregard for grammar--Felix and I turned it up.

So, four views of the hallways,

and African adventures soon, plus Daisy and the Goats, and college news for Clara!

Lovely hallway photos! It seems paint jobs always take longer than you think, but so glad you had Neil on hand to accompany you.....

So glad you're 'back!'

So happy your back! Love the hallway and can't wait for all the news from your family. The African Adventure sounds wonderful. Have a blessed weekend!

....& is that a chin-up bar in the doorway? My mother always had one up in our house, priding herself on the number of chin-ups she could do. I haven't had a bar or even attempted one in years, but that brought back memories--if that's what it is!

Yes, a chin-up bar (not that I can do one--it's the flexed-arm hang for me!).

Just beautiful!
It's so nice to have you posting again.

I had the pleasure of painting the sanctuary at church and I put in around 14 hours. My shoulders and upper-arms are really stiff. Gables are beautiful.....but very high!

Have a great weekend and enjoy your new paint job and your family.

Welcome back to your blog! I was happy to see a new post. I love the hallways! We, personally shun white paint here, but it is growing on me. I love the crisp freshness of it.

We just painted our hallway white too and I just love it. I can't wait to hear about the West African adventures. Our twin sons are Ghanaian so I'm intrigued!

BIG Neil Diamond fans at this house! I'll have to discuss the lesser-knowns with my husband, who tends to search the web more than me.

I'm excited for the other family posts!

I've recently finished painting 2 children's rooms and a hallway - totally relate to your 'ugh' statement. But as you say it really does freshen things up. And go 'hot August night' - live Neil diamond album, just can't beat it!

It's so good to have you back. Your hallway looks gorgeous! And I LOVE Neil Diamond. We had a record of greatest hits we listened to when I was little. Two of my favorite obscure ones are Beautiful Noise and Soolaimon.
