Now Knitting: Short-Sleeved Cardigan in Violet

Once again working from Sarah Dallas' Vintage Knits, I'm doing the short-sleeved cardigan with tie-neck in a violet cotton DK. Oh, I love this yarn! Such a luminous color. And I'm thrilled to be doing something with an interesting texture. Why, it's just a short step away from intricate lace, right?

Mm.

But it is fun.

Of course it's just a short step from lace! But not so terrifyingly impossible.

That is a gorgeous pattern and color. (in MD)

It sure is pretty, and I love the stitch pattern, too! But I do have to admit, lace isn't nearly as bad as one might imagine. I finally convinced my mom to try it, and she says if she can knit it, anybody can! Good luck!

Nice pattern Anna and, yes indeed, it's a short skip to lace. If you can do purl and plain and if you can count (all of which you evidently can), then you can knit lace.

How did Clara's camisole turn out?

Beautiful! And do go for the lace next - it's often not quite as tricky as it seems!

Florence, it's lovely! More of a warm-weather garment though. She's done some beautiful knitting since then that I want to share.

Rose, my last rumble with lace ended in failure. Baby steps!

Very pretty! I love the new knitting books that make the vintage patterns more accessible for today.
