Tiger Swallowtails in the Lilac

Indoors we are all primer, paint, and floor stripper.

Fortunately, outdoors is all about tiger swallowtails in the lilacs,

alternating with rain.

I'm impressed with how often you paint. Our walls are getting really dingy but oy vey, the thought of tearing up a room to paint it. . .

Your little photo series is MUCH nicer to focus on!

Oh lilacs. I love them. You are ahead of us--our lilac plants are just starting to show the teensiest buds. I have got to figure out a way to somehow 'root' them from my aunt's house (the ancestral farmhouse on our property) to our yard!

Happy painting!

I'm wondering if Tartine bread baking in summer could be thinkable, using an outdoor grill. This link is for a video Jeff Hertzberg (Artisan Bread in 5....) did, baking a boule outdoors.

You have lilacs! We're just getting daffodils here, which is perfectly fine, of course. I love the splashes of yellow, but lilacs are my favorite spring flowers, so I'm just a tad jealous that you have them already!

oops, sorry - Jeff Hertzberg's info about bread on the grill was words and photos, but not video. Still...food for thought?

Have you tried the paint and primer in one yet? There are a few brands, my favorite as it goes on smooth and is highly washable is Clark + Kensington by Ace Hardware. I cheated and looked at the can name for that. The bathroom is this divine pale, pale lilacy gray called Sleek Siamese. What a nice change from the deep orange, which was lovely but not in the bathroom!
