The Hollyhocks the Deer Forgot

Somehow this year, the deer forgot to eat my hollyhocks. I don't mind.

How do you know so much about flower indentification?

And now I know what these are called in English. They grow in our garden, too (or used to grow).

Farrah, I guess from reading tags and looking at pictures :)

Okay! :) I thought maybe you have a specific reference. For years I did not care about items in nature, but recently do find it fascinating and lovely. Of course my grandmothers are 400 miles away to help me!

It was a thrill last year when a full grown deer appeared in our back yard, but I guess that can get old when greenery starts to disappear!

Replying to Lisateresa - Girl, you are so right about the cute deer! They were "really cute" two years ago, "cute" last year and this year, well, this year, we are thinking of ways to get the little darlings to leave our garden alone! They've taken down all the tomatoes and asparagus and green bean plants. Enough!

P.S. And now Anna mentions that they eat hollyhocks and tiger lilies too??!!
