A Topsy-Turvy Doll for Daisy
My mother gave Daisy a copy of Wee Wonderfuls, a book of doll and toy patterns. I told Daisy I would sew her one thing.
She chose the Topsy-Turvy doll, which is kind of cheating, since I had to basically sew two dolls, especially if you go by the hardest thing, which is hair, and which I definitely had to do two of. I didn't enjoy the hair.
Daisy swears I told her I had always wanted to make a topsy-turvy doll. That seems so unlikely. But anyway, I did it, and the doll is finished, both sides, and Daisy likes it.

I always wanted a topsy turvy doll when I was younger. The one I was used to was red riding hood which had her, the wolf, and grandmother. I never got one, but have always liked them. She will have lots of fun! Christina
She is cute! I have one from my past that is a Little Red Riding Hood on one side and then the Big Bad Wolf on the other side...it wasn't homemade, but store bought. Yours will be treasured more!
I checked that book out of the library and planned to make the topsy-turvy; hasn't happened yet, but you did a great job (as always).
I have to tell you, Anna, that Daisy's twin lives at my house. Her name is Kelsie...I mean right down to glasses and smile.
And the doll..she has heart, which is important when making something to be loved.

now that is love to sew a dolly for your girl. I could only sew a stuffed toy if my girl asked me to :) I haven't even entered into dolly clothes yet - all those tiny, fiddly pieces!

Oh, that is funny! I think my girls would pick that, too ~ for the simple reason that they'd be getting more out of the deal. They're very clever that way ;-)
(Daisy is getting so big! She wasn't much more than a toddler when I began visiting here.)

Your way of writing is the best Anna - caring and funny at the same time. I've always loved the thought of making cloth dolls, but it's the hair that puts me off, it just seems too hard!
Oooohhh....I must make some! I am thinking a Downtown Abbey themed one for my friend's daughter. Upstairs on one side, downstairs on the other.
