A Plaid Dress for Scootering

This is New Look 0959 again, with a very different look. A scootering look. The pattern has bias insets in the shape of a band at the hem and also the sides of the bodice. However, trickily, this plaid is printed on the diagonal. So the bias pieces appear to the naked eye to be cut on the straight grain.

This is just some sewing trivia that makes me happy.

Very nice, Daisy wears longer skirts well! When I was Daisy's age I scootered in red jodhpurs. No we were not a "horsy" family, that was in suburban Sydney in the 60s.

Is that a DS fabric (Denyse Schmidt)?

So pretty, Daisy looks lovely!

I LOVE plaids printed on the bias! Such a nice look and so much easier to work with than actual bias. That is a great fabric and an adorable dress.

Yes, Anna, Joann's does carry a line of Denyse's fabrics called DS Quilts -- I'm not sure that is one of them but its so lovely and cute on Daisy!

Always love to see you sewing - so inspiring.

I think she looks so much like Clara. And I agree that pattern is very sneaky. :)

Ahhh, I love to see little girls dressed in pretty AND age-appropriate clothing. This is lovely. Anna, can you recommend a fabric for sewing pyjamas? I'm thinking of making easy, breezy pyjamas for my similarly aged girls, but it needs to be cool. If you can recommend anything, I'd appreciate it. Thank you
Sandra
