Plants in the Bronx

I'm visiting Giles for the weekend and today he took me to the Bronx Conservatory. Neither of us had ever been before, and it was delightful. Though it took a while to get there.

The weather was perfect, the flowering trees were at their peak, and the orchids were astounding.

I'm so glad you ventured up to the Bronx ! We live in the Bronx and many people don't realize that there are lovely things like the Botanical Gardens, the Bronx Zoo, Pelham Bay park and walks along the Bronx River. Hope you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing it !

How is it that I never knew about this place? Hmmm. We love the Bronx Zoo. The buildings are spectacular (architecturally)and we are amazed at the Mountain Gorilla exhibit. (Once when my kids were little a mother gorilla came over to the glass where we we watching her. She was nursing her sweet baby and poking a stick on the ground. All of a sudden she got up and went over to the bush where she must have gotten the stick. She made eye contact (before they changed the glass of the exhibit) and showed us repeatedly how she had broken it off. She was trying to teach us. Now why she felt we needed to know how and where her stick came from, I am not sure. But the fact that God made this intelligent ape amazed us. How could you not worship God? I could have just stayed there all day with our drawing notebooks.)

And how is it that you seem to be aging backwards. You are so beautiful and seriously you look 10 years younger than the last time I saw a picture of you. (c'mon, what's the secret ;-)

Love to you Anna. So glad you got to have time with your son and his girl.
