Sister, for Your Enjoyment

For your enjoyment.

We certainly enjoy her. She has inflated ideas of herself, and loves to spend most of the day pouncing after invisible things in the yard and now, emboldened, the pasture.

This is one of my favorite stretches of time. Everyone is settled into the school year routine, and I'm finding some extra hours to clear my spaces, prep my kitchen, and plan for wonderful holidays. I hope you get to do some of that too.

Hope a coyote does not get your kitty. They are a real danger in the mountains of east Tennessee

What a fluffy tail! You can post all the animal photos you like - you know, when you can't think of something else :)

I love this time of year too. With the lengthening days it's possible to garden quite late or simply sit outside, quiet "get ahead" preparation can be done and the fruit is macerating for the Christmas cake.

Hasn't Sister grown! Does Frederick still harbour a love for her?

Happy cat! Our cats (now only one cat, as the other 3 died at advanced ages...one was 19! the others were 17, and our current cat is about 15 now) love roaming the fields and bringing back all sorts of interesting creatures (poor creatures!) and having their little kitty adventures. I attribute their amazing health and longevity to this, so it bodes well for Sister's future.

I am also enjoying this season. We took a week off from school so that I could so some intensive Kondo-ing (books, papers) and now I'm ready to get back into the routine and turn my attention to travel plans and the holidays. So nice!

My kitty has to stay indoors but she still thinks she is the queen of the world. :)

I'm loving this time of year when the pull is now into the kitchen. This weekend, I made my mother's vegetable beef soup. It always makes me remember her. Soon I will start making Christmas cookie dough for the freezer.

Yes, just bought the turkey! But, we won't be cooking for Thanksgiving this year (we'll save it for another time). We'll be spending Thanksgiving in Florida this year with our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons for the first time in seven years. So, she's planning our menu this year! I am however making homemade rolls for my husbands' birthday today!

I think she is the prettiest thing. We love kittens and puppies around our homestead. Yes, I am prepping my home, too. It's something I love and enjoy. This is my absolute favorite time of the year.

2 kids 2 and under - all my spaces are currently full, and the days are passing at warp speed, but this encourages me to find quiet space and look forward to calmer days.
