Hee hee Anna, I love the mental imagery of this post coupled with the other day's quilt post. You said your mother is someone who "knows her way" around the scrap bin, today you are like a racoon in the scrap bin. :D
ooooh! patchwork magic! love how all the random stuff looks great together. Did you literally piece it as it came, or did you give yourself some parameters?
Dear Anna, Is it suitable to mix various fabric types when making a true scrap quilt, or are all the scraps necessarily similar in composition and weight? I keep a lot of my children's outgrown clothing, and I'd love to piece it all together to make a quilt, but the fabrics vary so much that I'm never sure if it would work. Sandra
Sandra, I don't mind mixing different weights of fabric, but I wouldn't include any knits in a quilt made of wovens. And be sure you can wash and dry everything. And for me, no polyester blends--only cotton, wool, linen, and sometimes silk.

I'm assuming not even you can make them jump into a beautiful quilt, though...or is it another hidden super power?!
Right. Well all that scavenging made a beautiful quilt! Christina
A good analogy! But the rich colors are very pleasing.

If you keep this for yourself it will be another wonderful "memory" quilt!

That's an image to conjure with!
Ah, but a racoon never ended up with such a beautiful creation :)
