This is such a simple sweater design--nothing so far but stockinette stitch and increases. So why am I on my *third time* of knitting this section? I cast on the wrong number of stitches, then increased the wrong number. Ripped it all out. Cast on again correctly. Increased the Same Number of Wrong Stitches Again! Ack! Ripped it all out. Cast on again, so far, so good. It's going to be a little bolero jacket for Bella.
I hope.
i love the name bella...love all your pretty things on your blog. always! blessings!
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be a pretty sweater!! Love the color!! :)
ReplyDeleteFrogging is the not-so-fun part of knitting! ;-) I love the color you chose! I've not seen Debbie Bliss yarn at my local yarn store.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty little project. Doesn't it drive you crazy when you keep making the same mistake over and over. Never mind, it will be plain sailing from now on.

ReplyDeleteIt will be lovely--such a cute pattern!
I'm looking forward to seeing the completed sweater. What a lovely dusky, pink yarn.
ReplyDeleteKnitting is funny like that. At least you discovered your mistakes before getting too much further along. I knit the same fingerless gloves up 8 times for Christmas gifts. I knew the pattern by heart. When I made the ninth pair for myself, I made so many, many mistakes. All I could do was shake my head and laugh as I tore them out time and again. I did finally finish them, though. Persevere!!
I agree - what a pretty colour! Your perseverance is encouraging to me as a novice sewer/knitter. I encourage YOU to keep at it though - it'll definitely be worth it!

Unbelievable! Last night I sat down to knit, got to the end of my skein, and tied (I THOUGHT) a new skein on. After a couple of minutes I discovered I had tied on the tail of my project and had a nice knitted Mobius strip. Then in ripping that out I dropped a bunch of stitches. After one hour of knitting, I was back where I started. What next?
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, Anna. You're more patient than I am. I think I would have given up by now. Good for you sticking with it.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy spending time here. You are a great inspiration.
Blessings,
Karen
What an adorable sweater and the yarn you chose is gorgeous! Is this pattern in the Debbie Bliss Simply Baby book as well? I may have to take a look at it the next time I'm in a bookstore.
ReplyDeleteI haven't commented on your blog before but just want you to know that I read it regularly and just love it. Your son's photography is excellent and I love the way you write. I am always inspired after a visit!
One more thing...I made your Potato Leek Soup and Chicken Salad sandwiches for my family for dinner and we all thought it was delicious!
Thank you!
