Tea under the Maple

Lovely mild weather this afternoon, and perfect for a little tea party with my neighbor Eve. I set out the tea things on the table under the silver maple and we enjoyed the afternoon sun on our backs as we watched the shadows lengthen.

Tiny dried cherry scones, cream Earl Grey, and Eve's coconut cookies. Daisy ate six of them.

The best way to spend an autumn afternoon.

I had to comment to tell you that last night I made your Crispy Chicken and my youngest son who is going to be 12 on Sunday and the pickiest eater in the world said it was even better than his all time favorite Hawaiian Chicken-made with a marinade from a bottle. That is very high praise. The child only eats the aforementioned Hawaiian chicken, spaghetti, and chicken nuggets.

Thank you for sharing that recipe. My husband pointed out it's the first time in 20+ years of marriage I ever made chicken breasts and they weren't dry.

Sugar cubes always remind me of my great-grandma that was Swedish. She would put a cube in her mouth and then drink her tea :)

Once in awhile I like to buy the cubes b/c they remind me of my childhood, my mom also buys them.

You've got lucky neighbors, I'm thinking, between Phyllis and Eve!
Have a good weekend!

My good friend and I had a tea party yesterday as well! It was so lovely over here in Oregon. Beautiful autumn! We had some wonderful pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. Heaven.

Lovely afternoon, I'm sure! I had to thank you for sharing the name of the tea and company which sells it (Cream Earl Grey). I ordered it and received it Friday. I tried it and it is heavenly! To me, it reminds me of cotton candy, with a caramel hint. My DH says he liked it, but to him it tasted of citrus. I did not perceive any citrus notes, just a wonderful mild flavor, unlike the rather strong taste of regular earl grey, IMHO. Thank you for sharing with your readers such wonderful helpful hints that make our lives sweeter. :)
