Tyrolean Cardigan

Knitting from the beautiful Vintage Knits by Sarah Dallas: the Tyrolean cardigan. A slim-fitting dark-green wool with rows of bobbles down the front and sleeves. Very much looking forward to adding the embroidered flowers in lavender, turquoise, and pale pink.

This is the sweater I started on our ski trip; the portability is so nice. Knitting is great for right now too as it can be done in the thick of things, keeping Nanny company.

  6. Anna, since the birth of our 3rd son 4 weeks ago, I have been largely absent from the world of blogging. But what fun today to read through your old entries and get caught up!

First, I am so sorry about your grandmother; and I pray that you will sense extra Hands helping you all along the way as you walk this difficult journey together.

I know everyone has a story to share about their experiences that can relate to yours. Here's mine, simply put: my parents, along with wonderful help from hospice, cared for my grandmother here in our home as she suffered through a brain tumor that ultimately took her life. A difficult time, but as others have said, such special moments that wouldn't be traded for anything.

As always, I've enjoyed the beautiful photos and the glimpse of peaceful, productive moments here on your blog. Thanks for the continued inspiration!

I plan to STAY caught up with you now, because it's much easier to stay caught up than to GET caught up. Now that I feel like my feet are back on the ground a bit after giving birth, I think I'll be able to manage it. :)

  7. Beautiful color, lovely pattern. So far all I can knit is rectangles and squares, but hope to graduate soon to lovely things like hats, socks and sweaters.

Especially with our first grandbaby due in a few months!

  8. Hello!

I just love!!! your blog...I also like to crochet and I like being able to put it down and pick it up while I listen to the t.v. or radio.

I also like to cross-stitch but you can't just set it down and know where you left off so easily.

I pray that things begin to slow down for you a bit. My husbands dad just passed away a few monthes ago and he was in hospice care for about 2 weeks. They were really great for the short time they were needed embrace the help.

    Many Blessings,

    Renee

  10. I love that Sarah Dallas book, but am completely intimidated by it! And I'm afraid to mess up or not finish a sweater that I've spent $200 in yarn for - but none of her stuff is plain old worsted weight yarn, which is my comfort zone. Sigh. If I could do a trial run in Wool-Ease from Ben Franklins, and then maybe graduate to Rowan yarn... but I can't ever seem to commit to such a scary, expensive project! I wish you the best of luck with it, and look forward to seeing the finished product.

  11. Oh I hope this is something that I'll be able to make one day... I've no hope of 'soon' as I've only just finished making my third (very small and simple) project but maybe by next year....

perhaps you'll share the finished work with us when it's done...I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see it! =)
