In honor of today's warm and sunny weather: limeade! Prepare a syrup by simmering a cup of water and a cup of sugar in a saucepan until the sugar is dissolved. Meanwhile, squeeze a bunch of limes. Then into each small glass, put 3 T. syrup and 3 T. lime juice. Fill the rest of the way with water, add ice, and stir.
Naturally, you can made this tarter or sweeter by adding syrup or lime juice. Or make a bigger glassful. It's good.
Mmm, that sounds (and looks!) delicious ... I think we'll try it before the weather gets too cold here!
ReplyDeleteLovely...beautiful photo, wonderful recipe!
ReplyDeleteoh how smells of summertime! i like mine with crushed mint--a virgin mojito!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thank you, you just saved me $3.50 at the grocery store the Simply Limeade my husband and I love. PS I have the same glasses.
ReplyDeleteWe can buy these at the soda fountain in the ancient drugstore downtown; they make them the exact same way. But how nice to do it at home whenever we please!
ReplyDeleteNow we won't get scurvy! (harrr)Thanks for the recipe.
ReplyDeleteMmmm...I've got to make this! We LOVE limeade around here.
ReplyDeleteMMMM you could make Cherry Limeade by adding frozen cherries (right)? :)
ReplyDeleteI especially appreciate the "by the glass" proportions--yum! If you shake it up in a pair of tumblers with plenty of crushed ice, it'd even be as yummy as the fresh-squeezed Lemonade at the county fair (I'm afraid that's my standard!) :)
