Clara's Daisy Bag
Clara's been working on the "Daisy" bag from Debbie Bliss's Junior Knits. Pink seed stitch outside, green stockinette lining, carrying handles worked in, and ornamented with knitted flowers. I'm proud of her!
That looks awfully like Debbie Bliss' Pea Green cashmerino aran which I'm currently knitting into a baby sweater. It's a lovely color - I like it with the pink. And I agree with Liz - seed stitch is definitely my favorite, too. How nice to learn knitting at a younger age!
What delicious colours and beautiful, even stitches. Please do share some photos when it is finished! I've tried to take up knitting a few times but just can't seem to get the tension right, in spite of help from my very experience knitting mother. This makes me want to try again...
How pretty. I'm very new at knitting. I have 3 little girls that I've taught to crochet. Even my 5yr. old knows how to chain. Now I'm thinking of teaching them to knit a little. Feel blessed that you have someone so close to you (mother) that you can ask questions to! Those knitting patterns are difficult to read! Your daughter is doing so well on her bag. Please show the finished project.
Joining the throng praising your clever daughter!! You are a fantastic example to us fellow mothers - you are raising your children so beautifully. Would also love to see the finished object when it's ready :o)
I remember learning to knit when I was little, & my first efforts outside of plain knitting were seed stitch & a 2x2 rib. I felt like a first-rate genius! Seed stitch is so nice & cushy, isn't it! :o)
I adore seed stitch. It is my favorite to look at and touch.
