Porcelain-Berry Vine

While I've been cleaning Felix has used a little of his outside time to do me a big favor--he built a tuteur for my sprawling porcelain-berry vine. The berries are fascinating shades from turquoise to lavender, and all points of blue in between.

Birds love it, and deer ignore it. It's a keeper.

  3. I had to do a google search for this because I think we have it in our wooded areas. It turns out that this is classified as "invasive" in my area and it's recommended that it be pulled up before it develops fruit or else disposed of in a sealed bag to avoid spreading the seed. I think it's beautiful and don't mind it spreading around the woods a bit. I wonder if goats will eat it.

It seems that even in landscaping, one man's junk is another man's treasure. I'm a great fan of 'weeds" anyway; always have been.

    Blessings!

  4. Would you mind posting more photos of the plant and berries? I'd love to see all the blue shades it creates.
