I made a wool skirt, as plain as a pound cake. Then I thought about that trim I had, chiffon roses mounted on a strip of netting. It was the work of five minutes to sew it around the hem.
To really make my teeth ache, I added a thrifted cotton sweater.
If I could only sew. That dress makes me want to drool. Sorry about the mess. :) I can't wait to see what is next.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty ...
ReplyDeleteSorry, I know it's a skirt. I still love it.
ReplyDeleteThat trim is dreamy.
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness! Now that is SWEET!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Makes me hungry for Spring. I think Boden has a skirt with a similar trim, but it doesn't come in sweet, floaty cotton candy :)

Anna you are one of the people whose example has encouraged me to learn to sew. I look forward to the day I can sew anything in five minutes. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that is a beauty! It says 'soft and feminine' all over!
ReplyDeleteIts gorgeous! I wonder if the children will say that you look like a dusty pink rose in that outfit, as compared with the daffodil.
ReplyDeleteAnna,, simply beautiful and elegant. I love the colors and the smallest of details.
ReplyDeleteOnce again you amze me with beautiful simplicity. Love it!!! Want it!!! Beautiful church going skirt...
ReplyDeleteTHAT is beautiful. Would love to feel the wool.

oh, this makes me think of spring!
ReplyDeleteYes, truly a breath of Spring!!
ReplyDeleteAnd its 25 out my window here in the
deep deep South!
LOVELY!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's so pretty. I was just thinking of making a spring-colored skirt for Easter, but I never think of wool. The dry cleaning costs put me off.
ReplyDeleteI've made several wool garments this winter, and I'm washing all of them in the machine on delicate. This skirt has already gone through, even with the trim. No nasty dry cleaning!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteWowee, Anna! I'm buying some wool!
ReplyDeleteNow all you need is a frozen lake to skate upon!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely skirt.
Anna, it is beautiful. You are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous. You really have an incredible sense of style...
ReplyDeleteThat's so gorgeous. I love that trim!
ReplyDeleteIt looks delicious!
ReplyDelete::gasps:: I love it! It's beautiful! Did you made the chiffon roses?
ReplyDeleteI love it!! Absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteIf it ain't pink, it ain't worth puttin' on is what I say. I love it! Gives me inspiration for Easter Sunday duds. I love your blog, it inspires me!
ReplyDeleteoh, MUST wear some pink! Thanks for the inspiration. I adore shades of one color together!
ReplyDeleteThat is so sugary!!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteVery very sweet Anna - simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness! I absolutely love it!!
ReplyDeleteYou said it was a basic wool skirt - did you use a pattern for the skirt? It looks like a basic A-line, right? Yet, for a novice like myself, I would need a pattern even for something as basic as an A-line skirt.
ReplyDeleteAny help on the pattern?
Thanks Anna~
Lori
Mmmm....that's yummy enough to be worn by Marie Antoinette. Such a clever way to pretty up a skirt. So beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute outfit! It'll look great on you. I'm sighing too, like Daisy!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! Post a picture modeling it! Share the pattern number and be a trend-setter! I bet you'd have 34 women (the comment count so far) try to make it too! :>
ReplyDeleteSugary sweet it may be but I love it. It's beautiful and so feminine.
ReplyDeleteJoAnn Fabrics in our town doesn't carry any wool fabrics. I was able to thrift a beautiful wool tweed skirt from a church clothing shop, and cut it down to a manageable length, and love it. You are showing me what can be done with thrift store clothing.a
ReplyDeleteThe pattern is Vogue 7341--not sure if it's still in print, but it's my go-to skirt pattern in three fulnesses. The trim was purchased at Hobby Lobby by the yard--I've seen it in pink and chocolate brown. Brilliant on the thrifted skirt idea! I've got some projects like that to post soon myself!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful skirt Anna! The trim is gorgeous with it!
ReplyDeleteWhat pattern did you use for the skirt?
ReplyDelete~Joanna
It reminds me of cotton candy.
ReplyDeleteHow froufy and feminine!!!! I LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt. I love detail in sewing. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous skirt.
