A variation on
this pattern: in flannel again, but this time with long sleeves and a ruffle at the bottom, by special request. This time I actually made up the bodice and skirt in a size TWO for my five-year old daughter, and omitted the zipper in the back, and it still fits loosely enough to slip over the head with no closure.
So beginning seamstresses, this is a good one to try--lots of style, and if your child is slim, just omit the zipper. Also, feel free to omit the bird's nest.
Yes, please! I'd love a dress just like Daisy's. :-)
ReplyDeleteIts a wonderful dress once again! Love the polka dots and even the bird nest!!
ReplyDeleteOh it is pretty and wonderful:)
ReplyDeleteIt is so very cute. Can't wait to pick up this very pattern the next time I'm out.
ReplyDeleteMy girl would love this. Those sleeves! And the ruffle! :)
Oh Anna, that is just darling! Pink polka dots and ruffles - a little girl's dream come true.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! If you can't trust the sizing on a child's pattern, what can you trust??
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful anna! Love the fabric!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight!
ReplyDeleteAnnamaria :)
I love the sweet little nest! I think it's perfect for the little bird in the pink dress. =)
ReplyDelete"...feel free to omit the birdsnest."
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't know - it gives a certain kind of rustic maiden charm, doesn't it :)
Anna, looking forward to hearing about how your marathon went! You go, Girl!
ReplyDeleteI would also like a dress like this for myself! Miss Daisy is getting so grown-up. She needs to slow down :).
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a snuggly dress. I want a flannel dress...
ReplyDeleteAnd the bird's nest would be my kids' favorite part!

Utterly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteTracy from 'Beyond my picket fence' sent me over to your blog to be inspired and for sewing tips, as I will be making my first dress soon.
Well, I am well and truly inspired after looking at all your wonderful sewing projects! :)
I just called by to say wow and congratulations on the marathon, but can't see the post now - but anyway, wow and congratulations. I admire your fortitude and add another reason to the list of reasons why I want to be you when I grow up!
