I love this little three-day week before Thanksgiving. Clara's done with her college classes until Monday. Giles has taken Hazel home and met her parents, and now he can settle in for a bit and get the boxes out of the sitting room. Tomorrow I pick Felix up from his school--score! The little girls and I *try* to keep our minds on school a little while each morning, but really we're thinking about pie, groceries, and girlfriends . . . .
Tomorrow night everyone will be safely gathered in. Then the winter storms really can begin!
"God, our faithful, doth provide for our wants to be supplied. . ."
ReplyDeletelovely.
I too am enjoying this miniature week and the anticipation for the Thanksgiving treats. I'm not quite ready to think about Christmas, though, I must say. And everywhere it's breathing down our necks.
You're singing my song!
ReplyDeleteAnna your website has given me a new appreication for crepe paper seriously
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving is such a cozy holiday.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited because I'm only having to work a day and a half this week, instead of three. I'll start my cooking after work tomorrow, God willing.
ReplyDeleteLisateresa

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing yours,

My question is what are you serving for Thanksgiving?
ReplyDeleteI gather one of my chicks today!
ReplyDeleteLove your crepe paper turkey! I have the same one and he makes me happy every year when I set him out.
Love your turkey! I do miss Thanksgiving, even if my family doesn't do that much for it compared to others. Here in Kenya it's just a regular working day. The school where my husband and I work is hosting a special meal *tomorrow* which feels odd. I need to pull out my copy of "Miracle on 34th Street" and introduce my children to it. That was always a Thanksgiving day tradition when I was young.
ReplyDeleteI hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteWe're especially grateful this year that all our "chicks will be gathered in". Our oldest was in a horrible accident last Thursday. But she and our son-in-love are doing well now. God is good.
