This Little Slice of Week

I love this little three-day week before Thanksgiving. Clara's done with her college classes until Monday. Giles has taken Hazel home and met her parents, and now he can settle in for a bit and get the boxes out of the sitting room. Tomorrow I pick Felix up from his school--score! The little girls and I *try* to keep our minds on school a little while each morning, but really we're thinking about pie, groceries, and girlfriends . . . .

Tomorrow night everyone will be safely gathered in. Then the winter storms really can begin!

    lovely.

I too am enjoying this miniature week and the anticipation for the Thanksgiving treats. I'm not quite ready to think about Christmas, though, I must say. And everywhere it's breathing down our necks.

  4. I'm excited because I'm only having to work a day and a half this week, instead of three. I'll start my cooking after work tomorrow, God willing.

Love your crepe paper turkey! I have the same one and he makes me happy every year when I set him out.

  8. Love your turkey! I do miss Thanksgiving, even if my family doesn't do that much for it compared to others. Here in Kenya it's just a regular working day. The school where my husband and I work is hosting a special meal *tomorrow* which feels odd. I need to pull out my copy of "Miracle on 34th Street" and introduce my children to it. That was always a Thanksgiving day tradition when I was young.

  9. I hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
We're especially grateful this year that all our "chicks will be gathered in". Our oldest was in a horrible accident last Thursday. But she and our son-in-love are doing well now. God is good.
