Thrift store sweater over a jersey dress, handmade jersey scarf*, hand-knitted beret.
*Even if you can't sew at all, a quarter yard of jersey makes a gorgeous, edgy scarf, no hemming necessary. On the other hand, it's lots of fun to dress one up with some hand-stitching or a fabric marker.
This is one of my favourite colour combinations! Anna, I wish you could come to my house for a week and teach me some good housekeeping routines.....I know that seems like an odd random thought but it crossed my mind yesterday as I was feeling so incompetent at keeping our home. Love your blog. Jennifer
For Jennifer - what a lovely thought about Anna coming to your house for a week; she has so much wisdom and beauty to share!
Here's my odd random thought to share with you... :) Have you ever heard of FlyLady? I, too, have had many times of feeling completely incompetent at keeping my home; but I've learned so much from FlyLady, and it's definitely making things easier for me. If you've never checked it out, you might want to go to FlyLady.net and look around.
Anna - Clara's outfit looks so beautiful and comfortable, too!
Thanks for the tip Davene. I do know about FlyLady and keep trying to get with the program but I am barely fluttering - feels more like floundering! My women's bible study group today got me inspired to really try again to order my priorities and figure out what I need to do at home. Anna - you seem to do it so well. I am not a natural born housekeeper but I do love being at home and I just wish so badly that I were "better" at it.
Oh Anna, you have no idea how much hope it gives me that you are not "natural born" either and that it was Flylady that helped you too! You are a blessing and an encouragement to me - thanks!

I wouldn't have thought to use those colors together but they look wonderful together!
Deanna
ps - Do you mind sharing what pattern was used for the beret?

Not natural born here either! It took me years to learn to keep my house clean. Flylady was the key for me as well. Where would I be without her? :)
Deanna, that's a Ravelry pattern found here:

Clara just omitted the buttons and their placket. If you're not on Ravelry, I recommend it!

It gives me hope, too. Thanks, Anna and Jennifer! :)
