A Bird Print Pillow for Felix

My sweet cousin Sal sent me a length of this crazy fabric--charmingly simplified prints of birds done in questionable colors. So much turquoise!

Each panel had borders already in place, so I bumped them up a bit with some rickrack. The front and back of the pillow are identical, and the case closes with a turquoise zipper.

The turquoise is so 1950's retro!

Amy, I hadn't thought of that, but now that you ask, of course! It will be a few weeks, then watch for them!

I also have two bird lovers who would love this in their room. I'll be checking your shop!

That is beautiful. Reminds me of the 'exotic bird' paintings on English bone china.

Anna, you are too sweet :). It would be for my son, Stephen. We studied birds last year in our homeschool and he caught the birding bug! Just this morning we sat outside in our sunny backyard and watched Scrub Jays as part of the Cornell Lab's Project Feeder Watch. I have shown Stephen some of your posts about Felix and they have been most inspiring to him!

I'll keep my eyes open for your shop updates :)

Except for the turquoise, it looks exactly like some fabric I had back in 1979 or 1980. I shared with my Mom; we made "trapunto" quilted pillows from the panels. No rickrack though.
