Always carrying a few bites of candy for her two favorite little ones, and a crust of bread to fend off the chickens.
The little goats aren't scary, but the big ones are . . . surprising, sometimes.
She considers herself the little ones' "second mother."
And the goatyard is her "second home."
They're so tiny, Nigerian dairy goats, I think.
Phyllis has a sense of humor--these two are named Luscious Kandy and Sinnamon.
Luscious Kandy always takes a bite of Daisy's skirt.
And Sinnamon is a great climber.
And Jezebel loves a Lifesaver.
This brings back memories of an ice cream place down the road when I was a kid - they had a few farm animals. A neighboring lady took us there once, and a goat ate part of her straw handbag.

ReplyDeleteOh, how I miss my goats. I had to move them in with friends when we had to move back to town this summer. Lovely, big dairy girls - I miss making cheese. Glad the girls get to play goatherd. :)

ReplyDeleteWell, she's not leaving for college right now, it's the middle of January and she's already entrenched in the school year! :) But she's finalized her plans for next year. Bella had a wonderful trip--and I'll have pictures very soon, I hope.

I. Love. Goats! How funny that yours is the second blog today to have goat pictures (the other was Rhonda at Southern Hospitality). I miss having goats in the backyard. Their antics are endlessly entertaining, and their milk is delicious.
