She's been wanting a sailor dress for so long. I used a regular dress pattern and added a sailor collar overlay, and changed the skirt from the usual semi-circle to one with inverted box pleats. Better picture later, also maybe then it won't be falling off her shoulder.
Oh, what girl doesn't long for a sailor dress! I had a beautiful one that rustled. I think I was in my twenties before I stopped wanting sailor dresses.
I'm glad someone, somewhere still yearns for a sailor dress. My mother was regrettably insistent about that particular style, and consequently, I spent most of my childhood dressed in anticipation of a tour of duty on HMY Britannia.
Very cute, Daisy! I had 2 that I can remember, and one was navy corduroy with Kelly green piping. It was my favorite and I had it until I was around 14.

She is one red neckerchief away from perfection.

Agreeing with Lisa - what girl doesn't want a sailor dress? Mine was in navy knit and worn so happily throughout ages 7 and 8.
I adore anything nautical! Wish I had a sharp navy sailor dress like Daisy's. I have quite a few sailor dress patterns in my stash
so pretty,
I love sailor dresses. I have made my granddaughter several.
