On the odd occasion I cook a little throwback to the days when we could all eat wheat and dairy. That's called Macaroni and Cheese from scratch. I made a casserole of it for the girls this week, using one of my all-time favorite kitchen tools, Grandma Helga's grater.
I grew up with a similar grater--they are wonderful! Sure wish I could find one in the thrift stores. Homemade Mac n Cheese is the only kind my children will eat. It's our favorite comfort food. (Hubby hates it so we have it when he's not around.)

My mom had one similar! That thing can rip up your fingers! ;)

Any chance you could post the recipe? =)
A beautiful kitchen tool when things were made to last.

Ok, I need to find one of those!
Grandma Helga's grater looks like a workhorse! I detest my flimsy box grater so tend to use the microplane for everything.
What a fabulous cheese grater! :-)
Yum!
