Inexpensive Wedding Napkins
I bought a few yards of bleached muslin, washed and dried it, and used pinking shears to cut it into 18" squares. We starched and pressed each napkin (it was awesome, mixing up a big basin of starch, dipping each napkin in and wringing it out--so vintage), then folded it into the squares you see. On wedding morning, each side will be pulled out so that each napkin will be a dimensional flower. In 100% cotton, which you cannot get at the rental store around here.

Those are going to be beautiful!
I've always wanted to mess with a tub of starch! (Where do you get your great ideas!?) I hope you can show us what the starched flower looks like.
Also, what is that charming cluster of strawberries on the napkins?
Great idea,and beautiful too! Christina
There's something very relaxing about repetitious folding. We used to make waterlily napkins like this. Lately I've been making Waldorf stars with the same soothing effect. Is the wedding imminent?
I'm guessing they're getting married right after Christmas, like Felix did. The napkins are a lovely idea.

OOh! love! The wedding must be soon!
Everything about that post makes me smile. How lovely.
Looking forward to (hopefully!) wedding photos being shared! I am in a similar season: my youngest son became engaged and married this year, and his next older brother (serving in a student ministry in Romania) just became engaged to a lovely Romanian girl! These kids with their starry eyes and big smiles--we remember it well, and we're loving it! Blessings to you and yours in this busy but beautiful season! :-)
So thrifty. So lovely.
Wishing the lovely bride, handsome groom, family and friends a wonderful wedding morning. Many blessings!
