Can't wait to see Daisy in this one. She loves the print because it features tiny doggies and tiny people. I love the perfectly-matching buttons from my stash (I'm sure my mother recognizes them). This is from the same pattern I used for Daisy's nighties last week.

Daisy's dress is sweet and I'm sure it will make her feel lovely and girly! What a comfy pattern! Does this mean you are taking a break from painting the kitchen cabinets? You must be a very energetic person to get all the things done that you do!
Lovely job on the dress. I miss making little-girly dresses for my daughters, but now I have two granddaughters. Time to pull out those old, classic patterns!

No, no break from the cabinets, except for the fact that the Composer stepped in and painted for multiple hours this weekend, bringing us to an excellent stopping place. All the lower cabinets are now done. All that's left are the 16 upper cabinets! Sewing is a constant, no matter what else is going on. Well, tons and tons of paperwork will slow me down!
What a beautiful dress. Little girl clothes are so simple and beautiful. I have trouble finding simple clothing and patterns for my son. He is 10 months old and I cannot even find a pj pattern in his size. All of the pants I see in the shops are covered in pockets, like army pants. Where did all of the beautiful boys clothing go?
It's beautiful!! I can't wait to see Daisy in it!

Adorable!
Oh, the dress is beautiful!! I am so thankful that the Lord has brought me a little grand-daughter and that I'm finding the time to begin sewing some things for her!! Seeing Daisy's little dress has me digging out the patterns I've bought and planning on what to make after Christmas!
I wish I could sew like you! I need to just try. I have four daughters and I need to sew for them. Could you tell me some easy patterns for dresses? What is the brand and number of that one you just made, it doesn't look too hard.
This dress is Simplicity 4709 . I have made it multiple times and it goes together very well. I like it because it has a bias binding around the neck rather than a facing. The only tricky part is the placket, but the directions are thorough. If you're a beginning seamstress, try using the same pattern several times in a row to master the basics. When I started back to sewing three years ago, I sewed the SAME pattern for my two big girls 13 times, I kid you not. I mastered that baby!
What a lovely little dress and the fabric and buttons are just gorgeous
You really make the best dresses. I've got boys, and your sewing outfits are a delight.

Do your girls wear dresses all of the time? We have moved to wearing more dresses rather than pants. We just feel more feminine. What do you do in the winter for warmth? Do they wear play dresses in the winter too?
