Sewing Another Apron

I made up another view from this retro-style apron pattern (Simplicity 4692) and like it very much--the tulip-shaped pockets, the scalloped hemline, the nicely-shaped neckband which I sewed closed rather than using Velcro (which, heaven forbid, the pattern calls for!!!) or buttons. There is plenty of room to slip it over my head.

Lovely, as always, Anna. Where do you keep your aprons?

I really like the yellow you choose. It is such a nice soothing color.

Love the apron.I have the pattern but I haven't made it up yet. I've also ordered a couple of patterns that you ahve mentioned previously to make up for my 9 year old daughter.

Seeing this apron plus some of the other things you have made ( I read all the archives) makes me want to try my hand at sewing again.

Velcro?
Good for you for using buttons.

Love the color, too. Good job, as always!

I ordered the See & Sew girls dress pattern you recommended and have made it up in lightweight linen/cotton for our daughter, but I was wondering if you have tried any heavier fabrics? I have a fine wale corduroy that looks like velvet in raspberry and was eying a yard of embroidered raspberry silk taffeta at the fabric store that might make a nice sash for a Christmas piano recital dress! What do you think?
