in a interested sorta way-- what is wrong with Santa?

...for my family they just keep santa out of their Christmas decorations so that the focus of Christmas is more narrowed down to Christmas symbols that pertain to Christ

We try to keep Santa out of Christmas, but our stockings do have Saint Nicholas on them. We use them to celebrate Saint Nicholas Day Dec. 5. We bake cookies and give them at night secretly to neighbors. To remind us how Saint Nicholas gave all his wealth secretly to people because of his love of Christ.

With all due respect, I don't see anything wrong with Santa in regards to viewing him as St. Nicholas. There is a wonderful children's book put out by Voice of The Martyrs called "The Story of Saint Nicholas: More Than Reindeer and a Red Suit". I would encourage you to read it. He was a Christian man who stood up for Christ in the face of prison.

We have needlepoint stockings too....and we have a Santa! Thank you God for St. Nicholas and his willingness to follow you.
