Miss Suzy

Daisy got a book for Christmas that I loved as a little girl. I hadn't seen the book in years, and couldn't remember much about it except that it was a favorite.

Oh my.

When I opened this book again, I was almost rendered unconscious by the sweetness. The cuteness. The charminess! Pick me up off the floor and read to me!

Miss Suzy the Squirrel, desires only to keep a cosy home in the top of a tall oak tree. But things go a little awry.

Aaahhh...Miss Suzy! A childhood favorite, and thanks to a thrift store find, my own children have enjoyed it, as well!

Oh, I love that book! It has special meaning to my now-grown-up daughter. If we ever find it for her girls we will grab it fast. She loved it and treasured it. Thanks for sharing it. It brought back many happy memories of snuggling and reading with her. ~Adrienne~

Very cute. I enjoyed the Little House on the Prairie books as a child and the shows of course. I gave Madison my collection 2 years ago..when she was 8 years old...she could care less..she doesn't like to read books....it disappointed me so much..I wanted her to read these like I did and enjoy them. Maybe she will one day. I so hope Daisy appreciates her book more than my girl did.

Thanks for sharing that--I'll look for it for me AND my Miss Maddie. Thanks to you I enjoyed the GLH book, Partners, over the Christmas week. What happened in the book was my dream as a girl; to find a baby that had been abandoned and to love it and keep it.

Oh how I loved my Miss Suzy! I have no idea whatever happened to my copy but I do remember as a child longing for a little home like Miss Suzy's to call my own and care for.

My 8 year old received Miss Piggle Wiggle as a gift, a series that I was not familiar with but that we are both thoroughly enjoying.

Happy New Year to you and yours!

I recently found your blog and am loving it! I have a sis in law who is a prosecutor and staying home with her baby. She recently mentioned that she felt like she was going brain dead. I sent her your link, cause I think it's inspiring. Keep doing what you're doing, lady. It's grand.

You have a beautiful blog!! I am so jealous of all your knitting projects! I learned to knit when I was very young (maybe 10ish) and took it up again when my oldest child was a baby. Now that I have 4 children ages 9 months- 6 years and I'm homeschooling I RARELY pick up my needles and I'm afraid I'm forgetting everything I learned. You have inspired me to try to make time for knitting again! Your sewing is gorgeous as well- that I will probably never do!

What a surprise to see Miss Suzy,my favorite book! I have my childhood copy and still LOVE it too! I used to want to jump right in the pages and help her clean up the dollhouse and who could resist acorn teacups? I have always wondered if a child's favorite stories reveal their future personality and interests. Wouldn't that make a great research project? Judging by the posts; I'd say they do.
Thanks for the happy memories!

I think Miss Suzy and I were separated at birth!! Looks like a super cute book and I collect squirrels-or did in my college days. I will have to look this book up.
Happy New Year!
