Vintage Ladies Smock: Advance 6464

Seeing Clara enjoy her cobbler's apron so much made me want one for myself. I fell in love with this model because of the fetching Peter Pan collar. Though totally outside of my usual style guidelines, I couldn't help myself.

My mother had given me some black floral cotton of a sheerness and drapiness incredible. I think it dates from the Forties! Perfect for a blouse. Because of the rather busy print, I bound the collar in contrasting pink so it wouldn't get lost.

Smock on!

Where do you find such lovely sewing patterns? This one is adorable, and the house dress is to die for.

Your smock looks fantastic Anna.

It never ceases to amaze me how much sewing you seem to get done in such a short space of time, and so beautifully done too!

It's adorable. You always know the exact accent or trim that will make the garment go from 'cute' to 'amazing'!!!

Anna, you look so very pretty. I am wondering, are these smocks worn with a blouse or shirt under them like an apron, or do they fly solo?

I love this, okay, passionately. I tell my little girl to "rock on with your smock on." You look beautiful!

Check out the apron smock I posted on my blog today. What a funny coincidence. I like your fabric. I love anything with flowers and it looks very pretty on you.

Please! WHEN do you sew? Do you do it once everyone is in bed at night? I have five children as well and once everyone is in bed, I crash. I get small amounts of sewing done once in awhile, but I'd really like to accomplish more. Please share! :)

I always love your fabric.

Love the sleeve length. Surprising how just the right pattern can make the most of an odd patterned fabric. Well done! Nice haircut, too. Oh, have you tried making your own bias tape, yet? (lots of fun!)

Blessings,
Leslie
